One of the world’s foremost construction machine manufacturers, the Liebherr Group, recently delivered the first ever batch of its 4-axle 90t models. Called the LTM 1090-4.2, the massive crane model features flexible axle load options, meaning it can travel comfortable with axle loads of up to 16 tons.
The quality and construction of Liebherr products are unmatched in the industry. In fact, their construction machines program offers a broad range of equipment including cranes, hydraulic excavators, crawler tractors, telescopic handlers, dumper trucks and more. These machines provide state-of-the-art functionality, making them great for run-of-the-mill construction projects as well as specialized underground engineering projects alike.
The LTM 1090-4.2, which was unveiled last year in Las Vegas, also comes complete with a 60m telescopic boom. This range promises to open up a new world of cost-effective, efficient and optimum construction machinery.
The first delivery was made to Denmark-based BMS, from the German production facilities of Liebherr. BMS officials disclosed that they plan to use their newly acquired LTM 1090-4.2 at their Aarhus site. The brand new LTM 1090-4.2 is all set to be the smallest crane at the BMS construction site in Aarhus.
The company decided to take on the new model in hopes that the technical highlights, especially the massive telescopic boom of the LTM 1090-4.2 will significantly help operators carry a huge quantity of ballast along with an axle load of 12t. The VarioBallast and VarioBase features on this model are also quite promising for construction workers.
Companies like BMS rely on heavy-duty cranes such as the 4.2, for a variety of reasons; the most prominent one among them, being the fact that these cranes save a lot of time and money in the long run. The machine offers precision, control, and durability, while also providing operators the ability to handle smooth and rough terrains equally well.
The Liebherr cranes are known for reliably transporting heavy loads using their powerful lifting capacity and superior off-road performance. The ‘exclusive’ suspension and boom designs are unique to the Liebherr cranes, and of course, the 4.2 takes full advantage of this technology.
The LTM 1090-4.2 mobile crane may look small, but it is powerful enough to carry thousands of tons at a time. Gone are the days when cranes were fixed to one position, and it took complex mechanics to make them work.
Liebherr has revolutionized the construction industry by introducing a wide range of mobile cranes that are safe, secure and can move from one destination to another. The compact and maneuverable LTM 1090-4.2 features futuristic technology that meets even the most stringent of the road and off-road operating requirements on a variety of terrains and construction sites.
The entire Liebherr mobile crane series along with the new LTM 1090-4.2 also features ECOmode that is known to reduce fuel consumption and noise emissions. The pump drive can be separated when the engine is ‘sitting idle’ and then re-joined. And this happens with minimum human involvement, using an intelligent controller that acts in a matter of seconds, as and when needed. This process results in reduced fuel consumption by up to 10%. All in all, the LTM 1090-4.2 crane offers never before seen mobility, presentation, performance as well as the economy in an excellent package.
